Passion Flower (passiflora incarnata) is definitely one of my favorite plant allies. It is a strong nervine that relaxes the nervous system helping to alleviate pain and spasms. We use it in our “withdrawal support” and “landing gear” blends as high doses can help one with opiate withdrawals and getting to sleep by reducing mind chatter. We also bottle this as a single herb tincture as it is great for those who suffer from anxiety. Other uses may include nervousness, restlessness, worry, disturbed sleep, nightmares, nerve pain, painful menses, spastic coughs, heart palpitations, and tachycardia.
